Jay Barrows recognizes our area’s enviable position of being the crossroads of southeastern Massachusetts. His civic and community work demonstrate his commitment to ensuring our towns are good places to live, raise families, and work.
An Advocate for Local Business 
Owner of his own family-run business, Barrows Insurance Agency in Mansfield, he has been an active member, and is the former president of the Tri-Town Chamber of Commerce since 2004, an organization that supports the businesses in Foxboro, Mansfield, and Norton.
Leadership in our Region
Long active in the YMCA, Jay has served as Chairman of the Hockomock Area YMCA Board and previously served as Chairman of Foxboro YMCA Building Committee – 2001/2002. He also holds seats on the United Way Board of Directors and the Board of Incorporators at Sturdy Memorial Hospital and North Easton Savings Bank.
A third generation Mansfield resident, Jay has founded annual community-building events in his town such as the Christmas Parade on Main St. and Family Fun Night in July. He has also served as a former Chairman of Orthodox Congregational Church, Industrial Development Commission, and the Housing Authority. He has co founded the Tri-Town Drug and Alcohol Awareness Partnership since taking office in 2007.
Together with his wife, Debbie, they established the ‘Together We Can’ organization in 1992 that hosts the popular father/daughter and mother/son dances where proceeds help to sponsor other community-based and academic programs.
Jay has been married to Debbie Laursen Barrows for 26 years and their familiy includes Cameron and his wife, Bella, Colby, Chris and his wife, Britney, and Caitlin. They just recently welcomed their first grandson, Logan!
